Trip Cancellation Policy and Medical Emergency Insurance Refunds
are made according to the following schedule. Cancellations in writing made more than 90 days before departure will forfeit $400. Cancellations made 70 to 90 days before departure will forfeit 50% of the trip price. There is no refund for trips cancelled less than 70 days before departure or no shows on the departure date.
On the rare occasion when Nature Treks and Passages must cancel a trip, all payments received to date will be refunded. If a trip doesn't meet the minimum amount of people to go, participants may be charged a surcharge of $200 per person. Nature Treks and Passages is not responsible for non-refundable airfare or trip insurance.
The US Department of State strongly urges its citizens to consult with their medical insurance company prior to traveling abroad to confirm whether their policy applies overseas and if it will cover emergency expenses such as a medical evacuation. US medical insurance plans do not necessarily cover health costs incurred outside the US unless supplemental coverage is purchased. US Medicare and Medicaid programs do not provide payment for medical services outside the US.
Nature Treks and Passages will purchase emergency trip medical and evacuation insurance for each registered trip participant through CSA Insurance. Optional trip cancellation insurance is recommended to cover your investment in case of injury or illness of you, your family, and/or your traveling companion prior to or during a trip. You may purchase cancellation insurance and add it to your emergency trip policy with CSA Insurance by calling them at 800-348-9505 and giving them the policy number that we have purchased for you. Guest Responsibility
It is vital that persons with medical problems make them known to us well before departure. Trip members have a responsibility to select a trip appropriate to their ability and interest. The trip leader has the right to disqualify anyone at any time if he or she feels the trip member is incapable and/or a member's participation will endanger the member or others of the group. Failure to adhere to directions established by the trip leader may result in being asked to leave the trip. If you leave the trip for any reason, you are responsible for all incurred expenses. No refund will be given.
